On Monday evening, people in Hyderabad were surprised by sudden rains, strong winds, and even hailstorms in some parts of the city. Although the rain provided a brief relief from the hot weather, it has also led to viral fevers. Some areas around the historic Charminar saw ice pellets falling from the sky, covering the roads with a white sheet of hailstones. People in Nampally, the High Court, Goshamahal, Begum Bazar and Bahadurpura areas experienced hailstorms too. Some other areas had heavy rain and strong winds, including Chanchalguda, Saidabad, Champapet, Koti, Abids, Narayanguda, Himayat Nagar, Liberty, Basheerbagh and Hyderguda.

Unfortunately, the stagnation of water on roads caused problems for traffic in some places. People who were returning from work were stranded due to unexpected rains. This is the third time this summer that parts of Telangana have received hailstorms.
