In Hyderabad, residents have been facing issues with waterlogged areas and the unresponsiveness of the monsoon emergency teams provided by municipalities like Nizampet Municipal Corporation and Jawahar Nagar Municipal Corporation during recent heavy rains. Despite instructions from the Principal Secretary of the MA and UD Department to form Disaster Emergency Teams within municipal limits, these teams were not visible or responsive during Monday evening’s downpour in Nizampet and Bachupally areas. This lack of assistance raised concerns as waterlogging and fallen trees persisted without timely help.

Local residents have expressed frustration with the ineffective response from emergency teams during heavy rains. Many have reported that the emergency numbers provided by the municipalities were unresponsive or that officials failed to promptly address reported issues. This has led to residents taking matters into their own hands to guide commuters through affected areas and manage traffic during rain-related problems.
