The Civil Supplies Department in Hyderabad is getting ready to buy 75.40 lakh metric tonnes of paddy during the Yasangi season. The State government has set up 7,149 procurement centers for this purpose. Out of these, 5,422 centers are already functioning in five districts.
The department started opening these centers on March 25. The remaining 1,727 centers will be operational soon. So far, 4,345 farmers have sold a total of 31.215 MT of paddy at 443 centers.
