The State Assembly in Hyderabad had a heated discussion on the resolution about the Telangana Government not giving control of reservoirs and Krishna water to the Krishna River Water Management Board. During the discussion, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy accused former chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao of mortgaging the rights of Telangana to the center. Revanth Reddy also criticized KCR for not being present in the Assembly to defend his actions.

Revanth Reddy further mentioned that a person who was removed from Karimnagar and elected in Mahabubnagar never paid attention to the district. He criticized KCR for not participating in the important discussion and mocked his claim of reading 80,000 books. Revanth Reddy suggested that the Speaker adjourn the house and summon KCR.

Revanth Reddy also expressed that it would have been better if senior BRS leader T Padma Rao was elected as the leader of opposition instead of the current BRS MLAs. He disagreed with former irrigation minister T Harish Rao’s defense of his party, stating that a Gazette Notification from July 15, 2021, showed that the BRS government had no objection in principle to handing over control of common projects.
