The State Education Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy held a ceremony at Gachibowli Stadium to award athletes who won the CM Cup, a state-level sports competition. The event provided athletes from various districts an opportunity to show their skills. During her speech, the Minister emphasized the importance of respecting both victory and defeat equally. She also spoke about the government’s commitment to sports at all levels. A dedicated sub-committee has been formed to focus solely on sports and formulate a new sports policy. The government aims to establish sports grounds in every village to nurture grassroots talent.
In the CM Cup, Sangareddy district won the game of hockey, Nizamabad district secured second place, and Hyderabad district came third. Khammam district won the women’s football category, with Nalgonda district securing second place and Nizamabad district achieving third place. In boys’ football, Hyderabad district secured the top position, while Gadwal district earned second place. The Minister presented awards to the winning teams, including the remarkable third-placed team from Sangareddy district.
