The Chief Minister of Telangana, K. Chandrasekhar Rao, announced an increase in pension for people with disabilities to Rs 4,116. He also criticized the Congress and BJP parties for damaging Singareni, a coal mining company. He spoke at a public meeting in Mancherial, a district in the coal belt. The Chief Minister said that Singareni has been around for 134 years and that it is an asset started under Nizam’s rule. However, he claimed that it was damaged during the Congress regime. He accused Congress of selling 50% of the company and BJP of wanting to close it completely. He alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has gone back on his promise not to privatize Singareni.
