    The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to look into ethnic conflicts in Manipur. Six cases were registered and Amit Shah, the home minister, had previously ordered a CBI investigation into six FIRs. Five of the FIRs involve criminal conspiracy and one involves a broader plot behind the violence.

    There was a recent flare-up at a tribal Kuki-dominated village on Friday, where three people were killed and at least one person was injured. Since May 3, there have been allegations of at least 105 fatalities and 40,000 displaced individuals due to conflict between the Meiteis and the tribal Kukis. This violence occurred during a demonstration over a court judgement giving Meities scheduled tribe status. The government implemented a curfew and internet restriction in response.

    On Friday, security officers conducted coordinated searching operations and found at least 35 guns.
