Chief Minister Revanth Reddy held a significant meeting with Prince Rahim Aga Khan V at the historic Taj Falaknuma Palace to explore collaborative opportunities for heritage conservation projects across Telangana. The high-level discussion centered on expanding restoration efforts for several landmark structures that hold cultural and historical importance for the state.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister expressed his gratitude to the Aga Khan Foundation for its instrumental role in restoring prominent heritage buildings. The Foundation has already contributed to the restoration of the Legislative Council building and the renowned Qutb Shahi Tombs, which stand as architectural marvels from the Golconda Sultanate era. These restoration projects have been widely appreciated for maintaining the authentic character of the structures while ensuring their preservation for future generations.

Revanth Reddy specifically requested the Foundation’s expertise and support for additional heritage restoration initiatives. The Chief Minister highlighted two major structures along the Musi River corridor that require urgent conservation attention: City College and the iconic Osmania Hospital. Both buildings represent significant examples of colonial-era architecture and hold immense historical value for Hyderabad’s architectural heritage.

The Chief Minister also outlined his government’s ambitious plans for the Musi River rejuvenation project. The comprehensive initiative includes cleaning and revitalizing the river, which has been central to Hyderabad’s history and development. As part of this vision, the old Osmania Hospital building is proposed to be transformed into a heritage site, preserving its architectural significance while serving as a cultural landmark. Simultaneously, plans are underway to construct a modern, state-of-the-art hospital facility in Goshamahal to serve the medical needs of the community.

In a move to strengthen international partnerships and showcase Telangana’s investment potential, Revanth Reddy extended a formal invitation to Prince Rahim Aga Khan V to attend the upcoming Telangana Global Summit. The major economic event is scheduled to take place at Future City over three days, from December 7 to December 9. The summit is expected to attract global investors, business leaders, and dignitaries from around the world.

The Aga Khan Foundation has established itself as a leading organization in heritage conservation and restoration projects across South Asia. The Foundation’s involvement in Telangana’s heritage preservation efforts represents a significant partnership between the state government and international conservation expertise, aimed at protecting and promoting the region’s rich architectural legacy.
