Mahbubnagar: CM Revanth Reddy Urges People to Avoid Opposition's “False Narrative”

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Saturday urged the people of Mahbubnagar not to fall for what he described as the misleading claims of the opposition BRS. He warned that doing so could cause the region to miss a rare opportunity for development.

Speaking at the “Rythu Panduga” meeting, Revanth Reddy emphasized that this is a once-in-a-lifetime chance for Mahbubnagar’s growth. As someone born in the region, he said it is his responsibility to ensure that backward areas like Palamur are fully developed. He criticized the previous government for neglecting the region over the past decade, pointing out the lack of industries and irrigation projects despite the proximity of the Krishna River.

To address these challenges, the Chief Minister said the Congress government is focused on all-around development. Plans are underway to bring industries to the area, creating jobs and opportunities for the youth and future generations.

The CM also spoke about land acquisition for development projects, acknowledging the emotional connection people have with their land. He assured that the government would compensate landowners fairly by offering Rs 20 lakh per acre along with additional welfare measures.

Revanth Reddy accused BRS leaders KCR, KTR, and Harish Rao of stirring up unrest in villages for political gain. He said their actions have caused innocent Lambadas to face legal troubles and even imprisonment. Drawing from his own experience of facing 100 legal cases, he warned that getting out of legal issues is not easy, while the leaders inciting unrest are comfortably living in luxury farmhouses.

The Chief Minister highlighted the failures of the BRS government, particularly its inability to fulfill promises like the loan-waiver scheme. In contrast, he noted that the Congress government spent Rs 21,000 crore to benefit 25 lakh farmers, provided free electricity, and ensured a bonus of Rs 500 above the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for paddy farmers.

Revanth Reddy also criticized the BRS government for spending Rs 1.02 lakh crore on the Kaleshwaram project, which he claimed failed within three years. He assured that the Congress government would instead focus on providing reliable irrigation facilities for the farmers of Palamur.

In conclusion, the Chief Minister called on KCR to stop engaging in what he called “negative politics” and instead participate in Assembly sessions to address any concerns directly.
