Hyderabad is witnessing ongoing issues with illegal fiber cuts by TGSPDCL workers, according to the Cable Operators Association of India (COAI). These actions continue despite a Telangana High Court order that prohibits such activities.
Telecom fiber cuts are causing major internet service disruptions. This problem has grown over recent days, affecting both city and countryside connections significantly.
Even though the court extended orders to prevent the cutting or removal of optical fiber cables, violations persist. Recent incidents have been reported in areas like Banjara Hills, Kukatpally, Madhapur, Kondapur, Habsiguda, Champapet, Manikonda, Secunderabad, and Kompally.
COAI emphasizes that telecom access is a vital service and a fundamental right today. They urge the state government and relevant authorities to enforce the court’s directives immediately. Protecting telecom infrastructure is crucial, and those responsible for these unlawful actions should face legal consequences.
