Gadwal: In a special event to support a key government program, District Collector B.M. Santosh and Gadwal MLA Bandla Krishna Mohan Reddy joined a community lunch in Mallapuram village, Kettidoddi Mandal on Tuesday. The lunch was part of the Telangana government’s Fine Rice Distribution Scheme, which helps poor families get quality rice for free.
The program aims to give ration cardholders high-quality rice so they can enjoy healthy and tasty meals without spending money. During the lunch, Collector Santosh and MLA Reddy sat down to eat with a local family, showing their support for the scheme and the people benefiting from it.
Collector Santosh spoke to the family and asked how they were finding the rice provided by the government. He said the goal is to make sure poor families get the same good-quality rice as wealthier people, without any cost. He encouraged everyone eligible to take full advantage of the scheme.
MLA Reddy also highlighted the importance of the program. He said it not only helps families get enough food but also ensures they receive proper nutrition. The scheme is designed so that no one in the community should go hungry.
Local residents were happy and surprised to see senior officials visit their homes and share a meal with them. Many said that the rice they receive from the government has helped them save money and cook better meals at home.
After the lunch, the Collector and MLA spoke with other villagers to learn about their problems. They promised to take action to fix local issues.
Several other officials attended the event, including District SP Srinivas Rao, Additional Collector Lakshmi Narayana, Gadwal Market Yard Chairman Nalla Hanumanthu, Tahsildar Harikrishna, and other public representatives.
