Wanaparthy district is taking steps to solve land-related problems through the Bhu Bharati initiative. On Friday, District Collector Adarsh Surabhi visited Edutla village in Gopalpet mandal, where a special land grievance meet was held.
At the event, a help center was set up to assist people with land disputes. Locals were encouraged to submit their concerns by filling out a sample application form. They were asked to carry the necessary documents to support their claims.
Collector Surabhi assured the villagers that the government is committed to resolving their land issues fairly. He instructed revenue officials to act quickly on the applications received. He emphasized that simple cases should be resolved immediately, especially those involving inheritance or ownership transfer. He also ordered that succession notices be issued without delay where needed.
The event in Edutla received 28 applications. This meet is part of a larger effort in Gopalpet mandal, which was chosen as a pilot area for the Bhu Bharati program. Since May 5, similar meets have been held in other villages in the region, and a total of 322 applications have been collected so far.
The Collector was joined by RDO Subrahmanyam, Gopalpet Tahsildar Pandu, and other revenue department staff during the visit. The team aims to speed up the resolution process and ensure that people’s land rights are protected.
