Nirmal District's Rural Development Agency (DRDA) has earned top honors with a State-level award for its outstanding work in empowering women and managing finances effectively.
During the 2024–25 financial year, DRDA in Nirmal went above and beyond its goals. It approved more bank-linked loans for women’s self-help groups than expected. Not only that, the district also took the top spot in loan recovery performance across the state.
The award was presented at a special ceremony held at Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Praja Bhavan in Hyderabad. Panchayat Raj Minister D. Anasuya Seethakka, along with Principal Secretary Lokesh Kumar and SERP CEO Divya Devarajan, handed over the honor to the Nirmal team.
Those accepting the award included DRDA Officer Vijayalakshmi, District Federation President Gangamani, DPM Gyanu, and APM Sudarshan. Their collective efforts played a key role in reaching and exceeding the targets.
District Collector praised the dedication and hard work of all the officers and staff involved in the achievement. In response, Vijayalakshmi expressed gratitude to the District Collector and Additional Collectors, crediting their support and motivation for the team’s success.
This recognition marks a proud moment for Nirmal District and highlights the strength of its women’s groups and rural development efforts.
