Nizamabad: Gangadhar Thanks CM for Welfare Commission Appointment
Gadugu Gangadhar has expressed his gratitude to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for appointing him as a member of the Telangana State Agriculture Farmers Welfare Commission.
Speaking to the media at his residence in Nizamabad on Tuesday, Gangadhar explained that the commission was created to tackle farmers’ concerns. These include issues related to agriculture, irrigation, seeds, fertilizers, warehouses, rice mills, and societies.
Gangadhar criticized opposition parties for misleading farmers about the loan waiver scheme. He urged farmers who have not received the promised ₹2 lakh loan waiver to report the issue to the commission, assuring them that it would be resolved promptly.
He also addressed the recent attack on the district Collector in Lagcharla, allegedly by individuals posing as farmers. Gangadhar stated that the government is taking strict action against those responsible for the incident.
The government is considering reviving irrigation associations to help farmers address water-related concerns more effectively, as was done in the past. Gangadhar also criticized the Telangana government’s farmer coordination committees, calling them ineffective and symbolic. He announced the reappointment of model farmers to improve the system.
The commission, Gangadhar emphasized, has full authority to take action against officials who create problems for farmers. He proposed appointing one Agricultural Extension Officer (AEO) for every 1,000 acres of farmland to provide better support to farmers.
As a member of the State Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Commission, Gangadhar reassured farmers that any issues they bring to the commission will be resolved. He reiterated the commission’s commitment to improving farmers’ welfare across the state.
