    Velichala Rajender Rao has been announced as the Congress candidate for the Karimnagar Lok Sabha seat. He is following in the footsteps of his father, Velichala Jagapathi Rao, and has been away from active politics for nearly ten years. Rajender Rao worked hard to demonstrate his abilities and secure the party’s ticket.

    Rajender Rao pursued a BA (Honors) degree from Ram Jas College in New Delhi and completed his MBA at Osmania University from 1981 to 1983. He has experience as the Managing Director of a construction company and has held various positions such as Chairman of Gundi Gopalraopeta Single Window and Chairman of the Karimnagar Market Committee.

    During his political career, Rajender Rao served as TRS State Secretary and was responsible for the youth and student wings. He ran as an independent candidate in the Choppadandi constituency in 2004, receiving 30,000 votes and finishing third. In 2009, he ran for Karimnagar MP with Praja Rajyam Party and again finished third.
