Hyderabad: The Congress Party has challenged the BJP to reveal a detailed account of the financial support it has given to Telangana over the years. They are calling for a white paper to make this information public.
MLC Addanki Dayakar, a senior Congress leader, hit back at recent criticisms from BJP leaders. He questioned the BJP’s contributions to Telangana and dared them to hold an open debate on the funds sent by the Central Government to the state.
He took aim at MP Eatala Rajender, calling him “half BJP, half BRS,” and blamed him for the current financial troubles in Telangana. Dayakar reminded people that Rajender had served as Finance Minister during the BRS rule and said he shares responsibility for the state’s economic issues.
Targeting Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar, Dayakar criticized his role in the BJP. He mocked Sanjay for once carrying Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s slippers during a visit to Telangana. “Let’s sit down in the BJP office and talk about what the Centre has really given to Telangana,” he said. “You’ve visited Prime Minister Modi countless times — what did you actually bring back for the people here?”
Dayakar demanded that the BJP release a formal report showing all the financial help it claims to have given Telangana since it came to power at the Centre.
He also slammed the BRS leadership, especially K.T. Rama Rao (KTR), for criticizing the current Congress government. “KTR, were you not the one who drained the state’s economy?” he asked. “People still remember the damage done under BRS rule. Don’t insult their memory with bold lies,” he added.
Congress leaders have made it clear: they are ready for a face-to-face debate and want full transparency on how much money the Centre has really invested in Telangana.
