Hyderabad:
KT Rama Rao, senior leader of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), launched a strong attack on Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Tuesday. Speaking at Telangana Bhavan, KTR called him the “most incompetent Chief Minister” in the country and accused him of failing on multiple fronts.
KTR criticized the Congress-led government for mistreating state employees and ignoring their demands. He said the government has not cleared pending salaries, dearness allowances (DA), or provided proper retirement benefits. According to him, these delays have caused serious financial stress for workers.
He accused the Chief Minister of trying to shift blame onto government staff by branding them as troublemakers. KTR said this was an intentional move to avoid responsibility. “Telangana employees played a key role in the statehood movement. Insulting them now is both disrespectful and unacceptable,” he said.
KTR highlighted that during K Chandrashekar Rao’s time as Chief Minister, employees received a 73% fitment benefit, which helped strengthen their financial position. In contrast, he said the current government has only offered empty promises.
He reminded reporters that the Congress party, during the election campaign, made big promises to government workers. Now, he said, those same workers are being shamed for asking the government to keep its word. “The Congress promised everything under the sun. Now, asking for those promises to be fulfilled is being treated like a crime. This shows their lack of integrity,” KTR said.
KTR also slammed Revanth Reddy for saying that Telangana is financially bankrupt. He called the claim shocking and damaging. “No leader has ever spoken about their own state in such a negative way. It’s a disgrace,” he added.
Taking the criticism further, KTR accused Revanth Reddy and his family of acquiring massive wealth, including thousands of acres of land and a pharmaceutical company in Lagacherla. He questioned how they gained such assets while the state’s income was falling.
KTR demanded that the government release a white paper outlining its performance over the past 17 months. He said the people deserve to know how the Congress has handled the state’s economy and administration since taking office.
