Hyderabad: BJP MLA Aleti Maheshwar Reddy has accused Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy of using the state’s financial troubles as a political tactic.
Speaking to the media on Tuesday, Reddy claimed that the Chief Minister is intentionally portraying the state as bankrupt. According to him, this could be a plan to lower public expectations, create friction between the government and its employees, and gradually pull back from welfare schemes.
He said the government is failing to deliver on its promises, especially in areas like power supply, while trying to cut down on vital public services. Reddy warned that essential sectors such as healthcare and farmer insurance are being affected.
The BJP leader expressed concern over delayed salary payments, unpaid bills, and halted welfare programs. He called it a major breach of public trust.
Reddy also questioned the government’s reported debt figure of Rs. 5.29 lakh crore, suggesting that the actual number might be higher. He criticized the administration for ignoring farmers’ needs, pointing out that Rythu Bharosa funds have not been released, while money is allegedly being funneled to large contractors.
He urged the state government to stop blaming financial issues and instead focus on fulfilling its promises to the people.
