Hyderabad: Malkajgiri MP Eatala Rajender has strongly criticized Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, warning him not to repeat past mistakes made during the era of former CM N.T. Rama Rao in united Andhra Pradesh. He said attempts to mislead or threaten government employees could backfire.
Speaking to the media on Tuesday, Rajender accused Reddy of trying to portray Telangana as financially unstable. He called it a sign of the Congress government’s inexperience and poor leadership.
Rajender highlighted that back in 2014-15, Telangana’s annual budget was around ₹1 lakh crore. Now, under State Finance Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, it has tripled to ₹3 lakh crore. He said this shows clear economic growth, not decline.
He also noted that Telangana’s Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) makes up 14% of India’s total GSDP. By 2025-26, the state is expected to generate nearly ₹18 lakh crore. “With numbers like these,” Rajender said, “how can anyone say Telangana is bankrupt?”
He urged people to compare Revanth Reddy’s pre-election promises with his current statements. “There’s a big gap between what he said and what he’s doing now,” Rajender added.
Praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Rajender said Modi understands that the country grows only when its states grow. He said the Centre’s support is vital for state progress.
Rajender criticized Reddy for focusing on personal gain rather than public welfare. He pointed to ongoing problems in the state — gram panchayat workers aren’t paid, contractors are still waiting for bills to be cleared, and students haven’t received fee reimbursements or mess charges.
He stressed the importance of a serious and strategic approach to governance. “When real issues arise, the government should act with commitment, coordination, and experienced leadership,” he said.
Rajender ended by saying that no one expected Revanth Reddy to rise so quickly, only to damage Telangana’s reputation and weaken its society.
