Navatelangana – Hyderabad: In the Jubilee Hills by-election, MLA Harish Rao has urged the Election Commission to take action against officials misusing their power in favor of the Congress Party. He reported to CEO Sudharsan Reddy at the BRK Bhavan in Hyderabad about the Congress Party’s violation of the election code by distributing money.
Harish Rao, speaking to the media, accused the Congress of freely distributing alcohol and cash. He mentioned that over one lakh sarees and mixer grinders were being handed out. Harish Rao stated that all related photos and video evidence had been submitted to the Election Commission.
He highlighted that the Election Commission was informed about every incident in the Jubilee Hills constituency. Sensitive polling stations’ details were given to the EC, requesting the deployment of central forces at these booths. He also called for the appointment of female police officers, ASHA, and Anganwadi workers to verify voter identity before allowing entry into polling booths, emphasizing that voters should not be sent in without proper ID verification.
For the convenience of female voters, a special counter was requested from the EC by Harish Rao. He submitted a video to the chief election officer, alleging the creation of numerous fake voter IDs. The details of Congress’s misuse of power and fake ID cards were also shared with election observers. The CEO assured that actions would be taken against any officials acting as accomplices.
