Hyderabad: Congress members are upset about a BJP leader unveiling a statue of their former colleague, D. Srinivas. PCC president B. Mahesh Kumar Goud and Minister Ponnam Prabhakar expressed disappointment. They believe that since D. Srinivas dedicated his life to Congress, this act would trouble his soul.
Mahesh Goud highlighted that D. Srinivas was committed to secular values. He remarked, “It’s regrettable that a BJP leader unveiled his statue.” He emphasized that D. Srinivas never supported BJP or RSS ideologies. Although the state allotted space for the statue, Congress leaders were not invited. Goud noted that D. Srinivas joined BRS but never showed interest in BJP.
Ponnam Prabhakar shared that D. Srinivas’ sons have not upheld their father’s legacy, which he believes would distress D. Srinivas.
