Hyderabad: Mohd Saleem, secretary of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC), criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for what he called a major diplomatic failure despite the military success of Operation Sindoor.

Speaking at Gandhi Bhavan, Saleem praised the bravery and skill of the Indian Army, Air Force, and Navy. He said the forces had done an excellent job in protecting the nation by carrying out the operation successfully on land, in the air, and at sea.

“We are proud of our armed forces. They defended the country with strength and courage,” Saleem said. “However, the bigger issue is that the operation brought unwanted global attention to the Kashmir dispute.”

Saleem pointed out that the involvement of US President Donald Trump, who publicly acknowledged the Kashmir issue, marked a diplomatic loss for India. According to him, this happened because of Modi’s rushed decision to launch the operation without careful planning on the international front.

He stated that Kashmir has always been a matter between India and Pakistan, and allowing other nations to comment on it weakens India’s position. Saleem argued the BJP-led government has failed to handle foreign relations effectively and accused the Prime Minister of not being able to explain India’s stance to the world.

“Modi’s actions may end up costing India in future discussions on Kashmir,” Saleem warned. “Diplomacy is as important as military strength, and right now, India is falling short on the diplomatic side.”
