The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secured 157 seats in the contested polls and won 6 seats unopposed, bringing its overall tally to 163 seats. The party’s performance in these rural body elections reflects its limited presence at the village level in Telangana.

Independent candidates and other parties collectively won 425 seats in the contested elections, along with 39 seats unopposed, totaling 464 seats across the state.

The first phase of polling covered numerous gram panchayats across various districts of Telangana. The elections were conducted under the supervision of the State Election Commission, with adequate security arrangements in place to ensure peaceful voting.

The significant margin between Congress and BRS in these elections indicates a shift in rural voter preferences. The Congress party’s ability to secure a large number of unopposed victories also suggests strong local support and organizational strength at the village level.

The BRS party, despite being the second-largest winner, has seen its influence diminish considerably compared to its previous dominance in local body elections. The party had held power in the state for nearly a decade before losing to Congress in the assembly elections.

The BJP’s modest performance of 163 seats reflects the party’s ongoing efforts to expand its base in rural Telangana. The party has been working to strengthen its presence in the state, particularly in rural constituencies.

These Sarpanch election results will likely influence political dynamics ahead of future electoral contests in the state. The outcomes provide valuable insights into the ground-level support enjoyed by different political parties across Telangana’s rural landscape.

The complete results show that out of the total seats decided in the first phase, Congress secured approximately 54 percent, while BRS obtained around 28 percent, and BJP managed about 4 percent of the total Sarpanch positions.
