The Congress Party in Hyderabad is working on forming district committees and appointing mandal presidents. They have now picked potential candidates. On Tuesday, district incharges from 10 former districts submitted their reports to AICC State Incharge Meenakshi Natarajan and PCC President B Mahesh Kumar Goud.
Meetings at MLA Quarters in Hyderguda gathered district incharges, vice-presidents, general secretaries, and DCC presidents from these districts. They discussed the candidates with the State incharge and PCC president. The talks focused on the structure of DCC committees and mandal presidents.
The discussions also addressed filling nominated posts. District incharges, after consulting key leaders, shortlisted candidates for each Assembly constituency. The party aims to ensure ‘social justice’ by recommending two names per constituency, prioritizing women from SC, ST, BC, and minority groups.
Candidates under 50 years old will be prioritized, with 60% of positions for this age group. Earlier this month, to boost the party’s strength and speed up ‘organizational restructuring,’ the AICC directed PCC leaders to propose names for the committees, focusing on local body elections.
