Congress to launch nationwide campaign called ‘Jan-Andolan’ to mobilize citizens.

The Congress party has announced a nationwide protest against the disqualification of Rahul Gandhi and has accused the government of acting too quickly to silence him. The party held a meeting with top leaders, including former AICC chief Sonia Gandhi and party president Mallikarjun Kharge, to discuss the way forward. The Congress has decided to take this issue forward into a “Jan Andolan” and will go all over the country to protest against the disqualification. Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh said that the BJP is rattled with the success of the Bharat Jodo Yatra and that the Congress leadership has welcomed the support of all opposition leaders. The party is now focused on building opposition unity in a systematic way both inside and outside Parliament.
