A meeting of key Congress workers was held in Asifabad district on Saturday to discuss the BC caste census. The meeting was organized following orders from the Pradesh Congress Committee. However, the gathering soon turned chaotic.

District Congress Committee (DCC) President Vishwa Prasad Rao and Constituency In-charge Shyam Naik were present at the meeting, which started in the afternoon. Many main party leaders and workers from the district attended.

Trouble began when Shyam Naik’s supporters started questioning why they were not informed about the meeting. They argued that it should have been properly communicated to everyone.

Unhappy with Vishwa Prasad’s response, Shyam Naik’s supporters began shouting slogans against the DCC president. The situation quickly escalated, and both groups started throwing chairs and stones at each other. Several activists from both sides were injured in the clash.

The police arrived at the scene to calm things down, but their efforts were unsuccessful. Eventually, the police had to escort Shyam Naik and his supporters out of the meeting. In protest, Shyam Naik and his group staged a dharna (sit-in protest) outside the Rose Garden.
