Bhadrachalam: In an important protest against new labor laws and privatization efforts, Left leaders and activists halted RTC buses in Bhadrachalam, in the Kothagudem district of Bhadradri.
Members of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), the Communist Party of India, and the Bharat Rashtra Samithi gathered early at the RTC bus station, stopping all buses from leaving.
Protesters opposed proposed changes to workers’ hours and demanded these plans be dropped. The strike, with broad support, highlights rising dissatisfaction with recent government policies affecting workers’ rights and public services.
