The Meteorological Department predicts ongoing weather changes in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. These changes are due to weather patterns stretching from the Arabian Sea to the Bay of Bengal.
In Telangana, a weather trough from the southeast to the northeast Bay of Bengal at 0.9 km above sea level, along with another from the northeast Arabian Sea to a low-pressure zone in West Bengal at 7.6 km, will likely cause light rain and strong winds. Over the next two days, northern Telangana districts might see winds at 30 to 40 km/h.
A yellow alert is in effect for Adilabad district. Light rain, thunder, and lightning are expected in Adilabad, Komaram Bheem, Mancherial, and Nirmal today. Other areas like Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Warangal, Khammam, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Sangareddy, and Medak could see moderate rain with gusty winds.
In Andhra Pradesh, moderate rain is also forecasted. A trough from the northeast Arabian Sea to southern Gujarat passes through several states. Light rain is expected in Srikakulam, Vijayanagaram, Parvathipuram Manyam, Alluri Seetharamaraju, Visakhapatnam, East and West Godavari, Krishna, Guntur, Kurnool, and other areas, with winds up to 40 to 50 km/h.
Recent rainfall data shows Adhoni in Kurnool district received 37 mm, Kautalam had 23.5 mm, Anantapur 22 mm, and Rekhapalle in Alluri Seetharamaraju district recorded 18.25 mm.
