    CPI to Hold Centenary Celebrations in Nalgonda

    The Communist Party of India (CPI) leaders announced a massive public meeting in Nalgonda on December 30 to kick off the party’s centenary celebrations. The event will mark 100 years since the formation of the CPI.

    CPI national general secretary D Raja, former general secretary Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy, and CPI State secretary and MLA Koonamneni Sambasiva Rao will serve as the main speakers for the inaugural function. Other senior leaders, including national secretary Syed Azeez Pasha and national executive member Chada Venkatreddy, will also attend.

    Earlier in the day, the CPI leaders expressed their deep sorrow over the passing of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and renowned film director Shyam Benegal. They conveyed their condolences to the families of both figures.

    Reflecting on the party’s history, Chada Venkatreddy highlighted the contributions of around 4,000 Communist warriors who participated in the Telangana armed struggle against the oppressive rule of the Nizam in the united Nalgonda district. He also mentioned notable leaders like Raavi Narayana Reddy, Dharmabiksham, Arutla Ramachandra Reddy, and Arutla Kamaladevi, who played key roles in the struggle.

    Venkatreddy emphasized that over the past 100 years, the CPI has fought tirelessly for a society free from inequality. He noted the party’s significant contributions to both national and state development through various struggles, from pre-independence times to the present day. He added that the CPI’s slogan would resonate in every village and household in Telangana, aiming to connect with marginalized and oppressed communities.

    CPI national secretary Syed Azeez Pasha reiterated the party’s grief over the passing of Manmohan Singh and Shyam Benegal. He criticized the Central government for not giving due recognition to the former Prime Minister after his death, calling it regrettable that his last rites were conducted at Bodh Ghat without proper acknowledgment of his contributions to the nation.
