Hyderabad recently saw the opening of a new Udbhav School campus in Shastri Nagar, Fatehnagar. The inauguration was led by Chief Secretary K Ramakrishna Rao and Director General of Police Dr Jitender. This school, supported by the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad Alumni Association Hyderabad Charitable Trust (IIMAA HCT), aims to provide quality education to children from low-income families.
The school will educate children from Lower Kindergarten (LKG) to Class X. During the event, Ramakrishna Rao shared his hopes for the school to shine bright for disadvantaged students. He highlighted education as the highest form of community service and shared his personal journey of attending a similar school. He pledged ongoing support for students in need.
Dr Jitender emphasized the crucial role teachers play in recognizing and nurturing student talents, which can lead to a brighter future. He affirmed that the Udbhav School, established by the IIMA Alumni Association, will positively impact the lives of many children.
R Ravi Kumar, President of the Federation of Telangana Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FTCCI), sees the new school as a source of hope for children in Rasoolpura and Fatehnagar slums, offering them quality education and a chance for a better future.
T Muralidharan, Chairman of the Fundraising Committee, pointed out that these schools provide pathways to higher education and careers. The network now supports 1,086 students with the help of 55 teachers, 3 principals, and 11 support staff.
Several notable figures, including retired IPS officer SV Ramanamurthy, along with Shanmuka, Harish Kumar, Sitaram, and Sri Harsha—all alumni and trustees of the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad—attended the inauguration.
