CS instructs officials to address water stagnation issues

In Hyderabad, Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari urged senior officials to address traffic congestion caused by heavy rain. She emphasized the need for immediate action to prevent future issues. Kumari held a meeting with officials to discuss solutions for the city’s residents facing challenges during heavy rainfall.

During the meeting, Kumari directed officials to send weather forecasts to relevant groups and individuals, advising them on necessary precautions. She stressed the importance of an effective communication system for sharing rain-related information. Additionally, 134 locations in Hyderabad were identified as prone to flooding, prompting Kumari to call for measures to prevent water stagnation in these areas.

To address the issue, a committee comprising representatives from various departments was formed. The committee’s task is to inspect water logging points and propose effective solutions for preventing future congestion. By taking proactive steps, officials aim to improve traffic flow during heavy rain events and enhance the city’s preparedness for such situations.
