Cyberabad Police Issue Winter Fog Safety Advisory for Motorists

The Cyberabad Police have issued a comprehensive safety advisory for motorists as dense fog continues to reduce visibility across major roads in the region. The advisory comes as Outer Ring Road (ORR), highways, and major thoroughfares experience poor visibility conditions during winter mornings.

Authorities have urged drivers to exercise extreme caution and follow specific safety measures to prevent accidents during foggy conditions. The police have intensified patrolling in fog-prone zones to ensure compliance with safety protocols.

According to the advisory, motorists must use low-beam and fog lights while driving in foggy conditions. The use of high-beam lights is strictly discouraged as it can reflect off the fog and further reduce visibility for both the driver and oncoming vehicles.

Drivers are instructed to slow down and maintain a safe distance from vehicles ahead. The police have specifically warned against sudden braking and lane changes, which can lead to collisions in low-visibility conditions.

The advisory clarifies that motorists should avoid using hazard lights while driving. Keeping windshields and visors clean is essential, and drivers should use defoggers to maintain clear visibility through the glass.

For two-wheeler riders, wearing reflective gear is mandatory to ensure they remain visible to other vehicles on the road. Heavy vehicle operators must ensure that all reflectors and lights are functioning properly and remain visible to other road users.

The police have advised citizens to avoid travel during heavy fog unless absolutely essential. Motorists who must travel are urged to stay alert and avoid all distractions while driving.

Authorities recommend that drivers follow traffic updates through FM radio and social media channels to stay informed about road conditions and visibility levels before embarking on their journeys.

The Cyberabad Police have confirmed that police patrolling has been intensified in areas known to experience heavy fog, ensuring rapid response to any incidents and monitoring compliance with safety guidelines.
