On October 21, 2024, Cyberabad Police Commissioner Avinash Mohanty, IPS, paid tribute to police martyrs during Police Commemoration Day. The event took place at the Cyberabad Police Parade Grounds. Commissioner Mohanty laid a wreath at the Martyrs’ Memorial and participated in a ceremonial guard of honor. He also offered floral tributes and observed two minutes of silence to honor the fallen heroes.

During the ceremony, CSW ADCP Srinivas Rao announced the names of 214 police personnel from across the country who lost their lives in the line of duty. He also shared that, as part of Police Commemoration Week, the Cyberabad Police has planned various activities. These include online open houses for students, essay competitions for police personnel, and a blood donation camp.

This year, the essay competitions will focus on specific themes. Police personnel from PC to ASI/ARSI ranks will write on “My Role in Improving Police Image in Society,” while SIs and higher officers will write on “Sound Mind in a Sound Body.” Winners will receive prizes. Meanwhile, students will compete on the topic “Judicious Usage of Mobile Phones,” with top entries receiving mementos and prizes.

A roll call of honor was held to remember those who gave their lives in the past. Commissioner Mohanty also recognized and honored the families of three police officers: SI K. Hanumanth Reddy (Amangal), Constable Faheemuddin (Talakkondapally), and Armed Constable Eshwar Rao. He presented them with shawls and expressed his gratitude for their service.
