D. E. Shaw India will open a new office of more than 600,000 square feet at Grava Business Park in Neopolis, Kokapet, in 2027. The company announced the plan on 7 October during an event marking its 30 years in India at its Jubilee Hills office in Hyderabad.

Telangana IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu attended the event. The new workspace at the My Home Grava project will operate alongside the company’s long-standing Jubilee Hills base, according to the announcement.

Chaitanya Gorrepati, managing director and member of the India Operating Committee, said Hyderabad was where D. E. Shaw India began and remained central to its story after three decades. He described the Grava office as the next chapter of the firm’s growth in India.

Eddie Fishman, managing director and member of the Executive Committee, credited the skills and rigour of the India teams for helping the firm remain at the forefront. The new workspace is intended to support collaboration among teams working in technology, research and operations.

D. E. Shaw India began operations in Hyderabad in 1996 with about 20 employees. It added offices in Bengaluru and Gurugram in 2023. Sridhar Babu said the company now employs more than 2,000 people across the three cities, contributing to technology, financial research, operations and corporate functions.

Sridhar Babu described the Neopolis office as a sign of confidence in Hyderabad and Telangana. He said the state’s young talent pool attracts global capability centres and financial-services firms, and said the government would continue supporting infrastructure, talent development and ease of doing business.

CBRE figures reported in early October listed about 600,000 square feet leased by D. E. Shaw at Grava Tower 1 among Hyderabad’s third-quarter office deals. A separate market estimate suggested the company may have committed to more space, but its public announcement specifies a workspace of more than 600,000 square feet.
