    Mancherial: District Collector Kumar Deepak has highlighted the need to focus on reducing maternal and infant mortality in the district. On Wednesday, he held a review meeting at the District Collector’s chamber in the Integrated District Offices Complex, Naspur.

    At the meeting, the Collector urged officials to work together to bring down maternal and infant deaths. He pointed out that the government has introduced several programs to help women and children. These initiatives include awareness campaigns to encourage pregnant women to register at Anganwadi centers, government hospitals, and primary health centers. This registration allows them to receive important medical checkups and the necessary medicines.

    The Collector also stressed the need to appoint technical staff for performing 2D echo tests during emergencies for pregnant women. He further emphasized the importance of special care for underweight newborns. Additionally, he called on officials to ensure that all children complete their vaccinations on time, aiming for 100% coverage.
