    Warangal: The State Government of Telangana is working to make the state a hub for sports. It aims to promote sports, find hidden talent, and provide training and support to athletes, said Hanumakonda District Collector P. Pravinya.

    On Wednesday, Pravinya, along with Commissioner of Police Amber Kishore Jha, flagged off the CM Cup 2024 torch rally. The rally started at the Thousand Pillars Temple and ended at the Hanumakonda district collectorate.

    Pravinya explained that the CM Cup is focused on transforming the sports scene by targeting young athletes, especially those from remote villages. The event provides a platform for them to develop their talent and potentially reach the international stage.

    Commissioner Amber Kishore Jha encouraged the youth to take advantage of the CM Cup to showcase their abilities. Several notable figures, including Additional Collector Venkat Reddy, District Youth and Sports Officer G. Ashok Kumar, and Olympic Association district president Md. Azeez Khan, were present at the event. Other officials from the Sports Authority of Telangana and various sports associations also attended.

    Earlier in the day, Warangal District Collector Satya Sarada launched the CM Cup torch rally at Pochamma Maidan. She said the initiative would greatly support the growth of sports across the state. Sarada later handed over the torch to Hanumakonda District Collector P. Pravinya at the Thousand Pillars Temple.
