The Telangana State Drugs Control Administration (DCA) officials seized ‘CYLET-2.5’ tablets (letrozole tablets IP 2.5 mg) in a raid for overpricing at a firm in the city. Letrozole tablets IP 2.5 mg, sold under the brand name ‘CYLET-2.5 tablets’, are supposed to be priced according to government regulations.

CYLET-2.5 tablets are manufactured by Stepan Life Sciences Pvt Ltd and marketed by Cynak Life Sciences. The Maximum Retail Price (MRP) listed on the product label was Rs 199 for five tablets, which violates pricing regulations set by the government.

The government has set a ceiling price of Rs 29.32 per tablet for Letrozole tablets IP 2.5 mg, including GST. This means the MRP should not exceed Rs 32.84 per tablet, or Rs 164.2 per strip of five tablets. However, the firm was charging Rs 34.80 per strip, which is against the rules.
