Delhi CM accuses ED of presenting false evidence in court

Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister of Delhi, accused the Enforcement Directorate of using false evidence in the excise policy case. He made this statement to reporters after attending the Ambedkar Jayanti celebrations at the Delhi Assembly. Kejriwal accused the ED of taking false statements through torture and pressure. He also mentioned that the ED claimed his former deputy, Manish Sisodia, had destroyed his mobile phones, but many of those phones were in the agency’s custody. Kejriwal believes the whole case is fabricated and based on false evidence.

Kejriwal then spoke about his government’s focus on education and how it follows in the footsteps of B R Ambedkar. He stated that Ambedkar gave a message that everyone should have access to good education, and his government is working towards that goal.

The Enforcement Directorate had told a Delhi court that Sisodia had planted fabricated e-mails to show public approval for the policy. This was in a money laundering case related to the alleged excise case, and the agency opposed Sisodia’s bail application before Special Judge M K Nagpal.
