Kodangal experienced tension on Sunday night when officials demolished a dargah and nearby burial ground for road expansion. This action upset the local Muslim community, leading to an immediate protest demanding the site’s reconstruction. AIMIM constituency president SB Gulshan was detained around midnight and moved to an undisclosed location, increasing community anger. Hundreds of locals and members of Muslim organizations marched through the town, holding a sit-in at Ambedkar Junction and chanting slogans against Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and the state government.

Police deployed a significant presence throughout Kodangal to prevent further unrest and ensure order. Protest leaders stated their demonstration will persist until the dargah is rebuilt and community concerns are addressed.
