    Director General of Police Ravi Gupta announced that all arrangements have been made for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Telangana on May 13. He emphasized the need for strict security measures to ensure a smooth polling process.

    A total of 73,414 police personnel, including members from special and central forces, have been deployed across the state for election duties. In addition, 72,000 police personnel from within the state and neighboring regions are also involved. To enhance security, inter-state and district check posts have been set up.

    During the preparation for the elections, police have confiscated liquor and drugs worth Rs 186 crore and registered 8,863 cases through search operations. Central forces have been deployed in Maoist-affected areas. Candidates and political party members are prohibited from promoting candidates on social media, with strict actions against those spreading false information online.

    A dedicated cyber security wing has been established to monitor social media activities effectively. Paramilitary forces have been stationed at state borders to further strengthen security measures.
