In Telangana, more than 3 crore voters will be voting in the 17 Lok Sabha constituencies. There are a total of 525 candidates running for these seats. Polling will take place from 7 am to 6 pm, except in certain areas where it will end at 4 pm due to security concerns. Mock polling will be conducted before the actual voting begins.
The Chief Electoral Officer, Vikas Raj, mentioned that voters can find their allotted polling station through Apps, the Election Commission’s website, or by sending an SMS with their EPIC number to a toll-free number. Central forces, state police, and other uniformed services will be deployed on Election Day, with a total of 2,94,000 personnel on Poll Duty.
Major political parties like Congress, BJP, and BRS are in a three-cornered contest, but are worried about low voter turnout. Special arrangements have been made to ensure that voters have a comfortable experience despite the summer heat. Paramedical staff and medical kits will be available at polling stations, and additional polling stations have been set up in remote areas.
After polling, all materials will be collected at reception centers and then moved to strong rooms under police escort. Counting will take place on June 4. Final results may not be known until the next day due to the extended polling hours.
