District Congress Committee (DCC) President, Puvvalla Durga Prasad, and City President, Mohammed Javeed, strongly condemned the remarks made by Member of Legislative Council (MLC) Tata Madhu against Mahatma Gandhi and the Congress party. They expressed their disapproval of MLC Madhu’s comments, which were disrespectful to the memory of Mahatma Gandhi.
A video featuring MLC Madhu making derogatory comments about Mahatma Gandhi went viral on social media, causing controversy. In response, the Congress leaders criticized MLC Madhu for lacking respect and dignity towards Mahatma Gandhi and the Congress party. They highlighted the sacrifices made by the Gandhi family for the nation and recognized the role played by Sonia Gandhi in the formation of Telangana state. The leaders expressed disappointment in the ruling BRS government for forgetting these contributions and called it a shameful act.
The leaders also urged the Election Commission to take immediate action by transferring officers in the district who are perceived to be biased towards a political party. Prominent TPCC member, Rayala Nageswara Rao, and other party leaders supported the strong stance taken by the local Congress leadership.
