Wanaparthi District: On Friday, the Collector made an unexpected visit to the Kisan Junction Fertilizer Shop in Pebbar Municipality. He also checked the Primary Agricultural Cooperative Society Office and the storage facility in Srirangapur Mandal.
Outside the stores, the Collector compared the listed fertilizer stocks with those inside the shop and warehouse. He matched the urea and D.A.P. amounts with the records available online. The shop owner mentioned that 45 kg urea bags sell for Rs. 266, and a nano urea can is priced at Rs. 265.
The Collector stated that any sale above the MRP would lead to action and emphasized that farmers should receive only the necessary amount of fertilizers to avoid false shortages.
He instructed the Mandal Agriculture Officer to educate farmers about nano urea’s benefits and suggested regular surprise checks on fertilizer outlets to oversee pricing.
Additionally, he demanded that every fertilizer shop display a stock and price index board. This board must detail fertilizers like DAP, urea, gypsum, and phosphorus.
