Wanaparthy district athletes shined at the 11th Telangana State Level Junior and Senior Athletics Championship. The event took place at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Hanumakonda on August 3 and 4, 2019.
Several athletes from Wanaparthy achieved remarkable success:
- Kesapaga Lavanya secured a gold medal in the high jump.
- Baddu Nayak earned a silver medal in the 5000 meters race walk.
- Jangam Sai Satwik took home a silver medal in the 60 meters race.
- T. Suchitra won a silver medal in the standing broad jump.
- Shankar Nayak achieved a bronze medal in the javelin throw.
- Suresh Nayak received a silver medal in the kids javelin throw.
Wanaparthy District Collector Adarsh Surabhi and District Athletics Association President Vakiti Sridhar congratulated the athletes. They presented medals and encouraged them to continue winning and bring more recognition to the district. The event also included District DYSO Sudheer Reddy, General Secretary Nandimalla Srikanth, and PETs Anjaneyulu and Naveen Parvatal.
