Hyderabad: K. Murali has been named the new Director of the Defence Electronics Research Laboratory (DLRL-DRDO). He takes over from N. Srinivas Rao, who retired on June 30. DLRL is well-known for its work with Electronics Warfare Systems and has provided these systems to the military for over 60 years.
K. Murali graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Osmania University in 1988. He then obtained his M.Sc. in Computer Science Engineering from the University of Mysore in 1990.
On March 20, 1991, Murali started his career at the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) as a Scientist B, based at DLRL in Hyderabad. Throughout his career, he has played key roles in designing, developing, and deploying Electronic Warfare Systems, RF Seekers, and Counter Drone Systems for the military. He has also spearheaded advanced research projects, working closely with universities and industry experts.
