Gadwal: A special event was held at the District Police Office in Jogulamba Gadwal to celebrate the 134th birth anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. Dr. Ambedkar is remembered as the main architect of the Indian Constitution and a strong voice for Dalit rights.
District Superintendent of Police, Sri T. Srinivas Rao, IPS, led the tributes by offering flowers to Dr. Ambedkar’s portrait. He spoke with respect and admiration for Dr. Ambedkar’s life and achievements.
In his speech, the SP said that Dr. Ambedkar faced caste discrimination from a young age but went on to become a great lawyer, economist, political leader, and social reformer. He studied abroad and impressed the world with his intelligence. Dr. Ambedkar was key in writing the Indian Constitution and became the first Law Minister of independent India. The SP called him a symbol of hope for the poor and a great inspiration for today’s youth.
Many police officials and staff attended the event. Among them were DSP Sri Y. Mogilayya, AO Satish Kumar, RI Venkatesh, Gadwal Town and Rural SIs Kalyan Kumar and Srikanth, DC Urban SI Rajitha, and Reserve SIs Ramakrishna and Chandrakant. Staff from departments like IT, DC Urban, SB, and the armed forces also joined the ceremony.
