In Hyderabad, BJP OBC Morcha national president and MP Dr K Laxman criticized Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for suggesting that BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi are plotting to destabilize his government. Dr Laxman stated that the Chief Minister’s comments show his insecurity and claimed that BRS MLAs are considering switching their loyalty to Congress to support his government.
Dr Laxman clarified that the BJP has no intention of bringing down the Congress government in the State, and actually wants it to continue for the full five years. He mentioned that after the parliament elections, there may be changes in the State’s politics, with Modi’s popularity potentially leading to the BJP forming a government in Telangana in the future.
Dr Laxman pointed out that the BJP has formed a government in Tripura despite having zero strength there, by gaining support through democratic means. He expressed confidence that the BJP, with its eight MLAs in Telangana, will also seek the support of the people through democratic processes to come to power in the state.
Regarding agricultural issues, Dr Laxman criticized the Congress government for failing to fulfill promises such as providing Rs 15,000 Rythu Bharosa, a Rs 500 bonus per quintal, and farm loan waivers. He accused the government of neglecting paddy cultivation and other agricultural concerns, leading to difficulties for farmers.
Dr Laxman accused opposition parties of playing divisive and appeasement politics, contrasting their performance with PM Modi’s governance. He criticized them for not addressing issues such as corruption and dynastic politics, while also defending the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) as a measure to offer citizenship to persecuted communities from neighboring countries.
