Badminton coach Pullela Gopichand and former Indian weightlifter Karnam Malleswari are among the recipients selected for the Dr YSR Achievement Awards-2023. The list was finalized by the high-power screening committee. The awards will be presented by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on November 1, 2023, coinciding with AP Formation Day.
The selection was based on exceptional contributions in fields such as agriculture, arts and culture, Telugu language and literature, sports, medical and health, media, and social service. The chosen institutions and individuals have excelled in their respective spheres and contributed to the overall development of society.
The Dr YSR Lifetime Achievement Award includes a cash prize of Rs. 10 lakh, a bronze figurine of Dr. YSR, a souvenir, and a commendation letter. The Dr. YSR Achievement Award includes a cash prize of Rs. 5 lakh, a souvenir, and commendation letter. This is the third successive year that these awards are being given.
