In a significant effort against drug trafficking, Telangana’s EAGLE teams worked with various departments to arrest 12 people and seize drugs valued at Rs 1.09 crore from August 22 to September 7, 2025.
On August 22, the EAGLE Railways team, with help from the Government Railway Police and Railway Protection Force, detained four drug traffickers on the Bhubaneswar-Pune Express at Secunderabad Railway Station. They found 91 kg of ganja valued at Rs 22.75 lakh. Later, on August 27, they caught another trafficker on the same train, seizing 5 kg of ganja worth Rs 1.25 lakh. The Warangal EAGLE team and local police conducted several raids.
On August 28, three traffickers, including a woman, were arrested on the Konark Express, with 32 kg of ganja valued at Rs 7.8 lakh confiscated. On August 30, two traffickers were caught in the Vazedu police station area of Mulugu district, with 30 kg of ganja worth Rs 8.75 lakh. The largest seizure occurred on September 7 when police arrested a person in the Inavolu police station area under the Warangal Commissionerate, recovering 214 kg of ganja valued at Rs 53.5 lakh.
