People in Vikarabad district felt a sudden shake early Thursday morning due to an earthquake. The ground trembled for about three seconds near Parigi and affected nearby areas like Rangapur, Basipalli, and Nyamatnagar, causing widespread panic.
The quake struck at 4 am, measuring 3.8 on the Richter scale, with its center located in Asifabad. Similar tremors were reported last May in districts such as Nirmal, Nizamabad, Karimnagar, and Medak.
